The way to know whether ovulation has occurred or not is to chart your basal body temperature and then monitor the cervical mucus. Just before you get out of bed pop a thermometer inside your mouth. Everything should be recorded in the same time in the ovulation chart. If the basal temperatures are low before ovulation and higher after that then chances are that ovulation has taken place.
