Health Hazards of Smoking - Passive Smoking
Secondhand smoke is a known human carcinogen.
Health hazards of passive smoking include-
- Increases the risk of lung cancer.
- Children who are exposed to second hand smoke have twice the risk of getting asthma and asthmatic bronchitis. They also have a higher risk of developing cold, allergies and pneumonia.
- Infants are more prone to severe respiratory infections and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
- Pregnant women who have been exposed to secondhand smoke are at risk of having a low birth weight baby.
