Diverticulitis: Diverticulosis is a condition where small outpouchings are formed through the wall of the intestine. Inflammation of the diverticula is called diverticulitis

Crohn’s disease: Inflammatory disease that affects the small as well as the large intestines

Peritonitis: Inflammation of the tissue lining the inner abdomen, called peritoneum

Gangrene: Death of body tissue, resulting in blackened tissue
