Esophagus: The muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach

Regurgitation of gastric acid: The backward flow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus

Fibrosis: Development of scar tissue, usually following injury

Endoscope: A tube with a light and camera at the end which enables visualization of a body cavity
