Vasectomy - Consent
The couple should be provided with all the necessary information before they sign the consent
Usually it is advised that both the male and female partners should give consent for the procedure. The consent form should also indicate the possible failure rate of the procedure and use of contraceptives till 3 months after vasectomy. The form should clearly also indicate that for all practical purposes the surgery is irreversible as the result of vas reversal is not satisfactory.
