Glossary

Arthritis– It is the inflammation of one or more joints in the body.

Coronary artery disease – It is the narrowing of the coronary arteries due to accumulation of fat with in the wall of the arteries.

Cyclooxygenase – It is an enzyme that converts arachidonic acid into prostaglandins and thromboxane.

CABG – It is a surgical procedure used for treating severe coronary artery disease.

NSAID – These are a class of drugs called as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, used for pain relief and anti-inflammation.

Polyposis – It is a genetically inherited condition, where abnormal growth of tissue occurs in the large or small intestine.

Spondylitis – It is the inflammation of the vertebra
