Glossary

Carcinoma: Cancer that begins in tissues lining or covering the surfaces (epithelial tissues) of organs, glands, or other body structures. Most cancers are carcinomas.

Chemotherapy: Treatment with anticancer drugs.

Transplantation: The surgical transfer of an organ or tissue from one position (or person) to another.

Cisplatin: An anticancer drug that belongs to the family of drugs called platinum compounds.

Hepatitis: An infection or inflammation of the liver.
