What not to do while offering first aid for a broken bone
- DO NOT move the person unless the broken bone is stable. DO NOT breathe into the wound as this may give rise to infection.
- DO NOT move a person with an injured hip, pelvis, upper leg or somebody who has a possible spine injury. If at all, movement of the patient is necessary, pull the person to safety by his clothes.
- DO NOT attempt to straighten a bone or change its position unless blood circulation appears hampered.
- DO NOT test a bone's ability to move.
