During 2015-2016, a total of 1,27,334 new leprosy cases were detected in India.

Among children a total of 11,389 leprosy cases were recorded between the years 2015 and 2016.

In the country, a total of 163 districts across 20 States/UTs are identified as High Endemic Districts for conducting Leprosy Case Detection Campaign.

A total of 276 relapse cases were confirmed and treated in 2015.
