Albendazole is prescribed to treat a variety of parasitic infections caused by round worm, whip worm, pin worm and tape worm. The diseases that can be treated by albendazole are ascariasis, cysticercosis, hydatid disease, enterobiasis, hookworm infections, toxocariasis, trichinosis, trichuriasis, oesophagostomumiasis,and microsporidiosis. Albendazole also prevents the newly hatched larvae from multiplying in the body.
