Mycophenolate mofetil is prescribed for preventing rejection of organ transplants such as kidney, heart, and liver. It suppresses the immunity of the body and prevents the rejection of transplanted organ by protecting the organ from the attack by the immune system. It is also recommended for treating other autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematosus, crohn’s disease, and psoriasis in which the immune system attacks the healthy cells by mistake.
