Abdominal pain refers to pain anywhere from below the ribs to the pelvic region. It could be pain referred from any organ in this region that includes stomach, pancreas, gall bladder, liver, small intestine, large intestine, spleen, kidneys and ovaries.
Every one of us will have experienced abdominal pain at some point in our lives. Most of the time it is not serious, but in certain situations like appendicitis, perforation and bleeding from the ulcer site, colicky pain from kidney stones, immediate medical attention is required.
