Dr. Sunil Shroff is the Editorial Director and Chief Medical Officer at Medindia and heads its Medical Review and Editorial Teams.
Dr. Shroff is a Urologist & Kidney Transplant Surgeon with the Madras Medical Mission, Chennai. He has an MBBS and MS from India, and a FRCS from the Royal view more..College of Physicians and Surgeons, UK and Urology specialization from University College London. He worked in various senior positions in UK from 1986 to 1995, including as a lecturer at the Institute of Urology and at the Royal London Hospital in London from 1991 to 1995. In 1995 he returned to India to head the Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute in Chennai.
Dr. Shroff is a founding trustee of MOHAN Foundation, a national NGO, and has been instrumental in establishing the deceased donation and transplantation programme in India. He is the president of The Nephrology, Urology and Transplantation Society of the SAARC region for the years 2013 - 2016. He is also the convener of the Indian Transplantation Registry under the agesis of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation. He is the editor of Indian Transplant Newsletter, a quarterly publication that has been keeping track of deceased donation activities in India since 1998. He has over 60 publications in peer reviewed journals and delivered over 700 Keynote lectures and presentations at medical conferences. He has edited four books for paramedical staff and has written eight chapters in medical books.
