What is Cushing's Syndrome ?
Cushing’s syndrome is a hormonal disorder, occurs due to the presence of abnormally high levels of hormone called cortisol in our body. The hormone Cortisol is also called Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).
Cause(s) :
Taking Glucocorticosteroid medicine in high level
Hormones
Tumor or adenoma in the pituitary gland produces large amounts of ACTH.
Symptoms :
Weight gain, characterized by fat pads along the collarbone, back of the neck
Thinning of skin as it stretches due to weight gain, causing hemorrhage
Proximal muscle weakness
Depression, moodiness, memory and attention disturbances
