What is Cronkhite-canada Syndrome ?  

Multiple polyps of the digestive tract is the characteristic of this condition. Polyps are most frequent in the stomach and large intestine, but may also be found in small intestine and rarely in the esophagus.

Cause(s) :  
  • Cause of the disease is unknown
Symptoms :  
  • Edema
  • Pain in abdomen
  • Watery bowel movements, 5-7 times a day, high volume of stools
  • Progressive weight loss due to diarrhea
  • Change in sensations of taste and smell and eventually losing the sensations
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea and vomiting Swallowing difficulties
  • Neurological symptoms like sensory neuropathy, seizures, syncope, nystagmus, etc
