Storyline : The film Erin Brockovich is a true story of a woman whose name is also the same as the film’s title. Erin is a single mother, with three children and without a job to run her family. It is under these circumstances she injures her neck in a car accident and while filing for a lawsuit, she gets to know Edward Masry, a successful lawyer. Masry hires Erin to work for him and soon she goes on to prove her worth by involving herself in various aspect of the firm’s activities and now Erin comes to know about how PG&E has polluted Hinkley’s (a small town) water supplies with hexavalent chromium and how the company has also successfully managed to keep the whole issue very quiet. Erin also comes to know about many people in the town who are affected by cancer and other serious illness, because of the toxic waste PG&E has polluted the town’s water supply with. So she decides to take on PG&E legally with the support of her boss, in what would become one of the biggest lawsuits in the history of the American legal system.
