Storyline : “Smile Pinky” is an enlightening documentary of a little girl born in a poverty stricken family in a poor village of Bihar with a Cleft Lip. Unable to attend the village school because of her deformity and continuous discrimination has only left Pinky desperate for that breath of fresh air which comes to her by chance, when a social worker informs her parents about a free surgery that could relieve her of her condition. Oscar winning film maker Megan Mylan & Pinki flashed a million dollar smile at Los Angeles for increasing awareness and how improvements could be brought in to these remote villages as not just in the documentary but in reality Pinky’s cleft lip was medically corrected. She now smiles and leads a normal life breaking all the taboo of her village that still needs a lot of awakening.
