Storyline : Clarissa Dalloway is preparing for a party that evening and goes to buy flowers for it. On her walk through the streets of London she remembers her life in Bourton in rural England with her friend Sally and her parents. She also remembers Peter Walsh, her friend who wanted to marry her. But she decides to marry Richard Dalloway, though she loved Peter a lot. Peter returns from India the day before the marriage and talks to her and they realize they still have deep feelings for each other. There is also a veteran of the Great War Septimus Warren Smith commits suicide after going through a traumatic experience. Then the party starts and she doesn't like it until things turn right after wards.
