Storyline : With great attention to detail director Robert Zemeckis brings out intelligence through the role of Chuck played by undisputable Tom Hanks. Only Hanks could pull off a solo performance of presenting drudgery of a lonely life on a lonely island with only a football to talk to. Director Zemeckis meticulously presents dual sides of a time bound Chuck who lives by every second of his clock literally and how a fatal air crash lands him on a lonely island as the only survivor with no clock to check time but only markings on walls to count the days and pass of time. Castaway provides the oldest theme of coping with the issues of survival amidst solitariness until years later when providence makes his escape possible.
