Clopidogrel is prescribed to prevent blood clots in conditions like heart attack or myocardial infarction (MI), stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA), angina (severe chest pain), atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeats), atherosclerosis (hardening of arteries), peripheral arterial disease, and in surgery involving coronary stent.
