Ureteric False Passage


Ureteric False Passage is caused by injury during a procedure like ureteroscopy.

Causes
- Injury during a procedure like ureteroscopy can cause a false passage.
- Usually occurs in during ureteroscopy for ureteric stones.
- It occurs where the ureteric mucosa is inflamed and edematous.
- Sites of narrowing in the ureter are more prone to perforation and false passage.
- Usually happens when a safety guide wire does not cross the narrow section.

Management
A Double J stent across the site of the injury for 4-6 weeks and allows the ureteral mucosa to heal
