Britons are almost twice as likely to have a drink every day compared to people in other countries and 1 in 10 of them cannot skip a single day without a drink. According to a new survey by Bupa into the drinking habits of people in 12 different countries found that people in the UK are 41% more likely to drink alcohol and 1/3 do not want to cut back despite the knowledge that it is bad for health.
The countries included in the survey were Spain, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, India, Brazil, China, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Excessive drinking is associated with several health risks, like heart disease, stroke, liver disease, many types of cancer and diabetes. Very often social lives revolve around drinking and its time that people look for healthier alternatives.
