Though monkeypox can affect anyone, CDC research states that approximately 40% of people diagnosed with monkeypox in the US also test positive for HIV.

18 of 20 Vietnam Monkeypox Cases Test HIV-Positive
The Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has officially confirmed that 18 out of 20 recorded monkeypox cases have shown positive HIV test results.
All 20 cases are being treated at the city's National Hospital of Tropical //Diseases, Xinhua news agency reported. Two cases are progressing seriously with multiple infections, the Department said.

Other patients have positive health progress, Vietnam Television (VTV) reported. According to the VTV, the city's healthcare sector has not detected foreign-related factors linked to current monkeypox cases.

). The infected persons show symptoms after 2 to 15 years after initial infection. The time interval between development of AIDS symptoms may range from to 15 years (Infected to full blown AIDS development).

Local healthcare authorities are stepping up measures to detect community infection, focusing on easily-infected groups at hospitals and preventing the virus entering from outside through border gates.
