277 Dengue Cases Recorded in the First Two Weeks of August Alone in Delhi

277 dengue cases have been reported by the Delhi municipal corporation till the week of august 14 alone. More than the last year record, it is up by 251 cases at this time of the year.The maximum number of deaths, ie, 118 cases were recorded in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. While South has recorded 82 cases and East has recorded 19 cases. The New Delhi Municipal Corporation has reported 31 cases, and 15 cases have come in from outside Delhi.

The mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Subhash Arya, claimed that he has instructed officials to work round the clock and implement all the guidelines for controlling dengue and malaria. He appealed to RWAs and people to come forward and contribute in creating awareness about the disease.

He also asked the zonal officials to take strict action against defaulters. Officials said that institutions or individuals found violating for breeding of larva on their premises would be prosecuted.

“Till now 81 prosecutions of government institutions and premises have been done, and this action will continue,” said Mr. Arya.
