She died of H1N1 pneumonia infection with acute respiratory distress syndrome and dengue fever with multi-organ failure at Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune.
A 29-year-old woman from Satara died of both dengue and swine flu co-infection at Ruby Hall Clinic, while a 58-year-old man from Ambegaon in Pune district died of swine flu Y C M Hospital in Pimpri.The woman had symptoms like fever, cough , loose motions and nausea. She also suffered from rheumatic arthritis and was undergoing treatment. She was diagnosed with dengue infection and was referred to Pune for higher management of the disease. Doctors also suspected H1N1 viral infection and put her on anti-swine flu drug Oseltamivir.
The woman was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic where she succumbed to both the viral infections. She died of H1N1 pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome and dengue fever with multi-organ failure.
A total of 123 swine flu deaths have been registered from January this year out of which 44 are from Pune. In Pimpri-Chinchwad, 53 swine flu deaths have been registered out of which 30 are residents of the twin township.
