288 pregnant women have been vaccinated at six centers in the last one month and the government is planning to set up more swine flu vaccination centers.
A 50-year-old woman from Ahmednagar succumbed to the H1N1 influenza in Pune. The death toll has reached to 92 till now this year as the city reported 3 more swine flu deaths. The state health officials reported that the overall influenza cases were lesser due to increase in immunity levels among people. Most people vaccinated continued to remain immune to the disease. Less rainfall in the state also could have been the reason behind the fewer cases.
The officials said, “The department is also considering setting up more swine flu vaccination centers for pregnant women. In the last one month, 288 pregnant women have been vaccinated at six centers in the state."
