Xavier, a 3-year old child battling cancer gets a sweet surprise. A new play set was built at his grandmother’s virginia beach home to cheer him up. Roc Solid is a foundation by cancer survivors which builds play sets for kids battling cancer. It partnered with Jeff and Jessica Salazar of Northwestern Mutual-Virginia Beach, which donated $25,000 to the project. Its their 127th project where it also remodels bedrooms for older children.
Northwestern Mutual employees and other volunteers worked with the Roc Solid Foundation to build it for Xavier, who is battling leukemia. As kids are kept isolated while getting treatment the play set will allow him to have fun and make him feel less lonely.
"It's amazing to be able to give an opportunity to keep providing the incredible experience they do for kids. This is an opportunity for temporary relief and to keep their mind off treatment," said Jeff Salazar.
