4-year old girl who had lost both her legs to meningitis has started walking again using a new bionic leg prosthetic system.
Grace Matthews, aged 4, who had lost both her legs to meningitis has started walking again using a new bionic leg prosthetic system.Less than a year back, Grace had to be rushed to hospital with temperature, sickness and rash all over her body. Doctors diagnosed her with meningitis and had to amputate both her legs below the knee and all her fingers, half the thumb of her left hand and half the palm of her right hand.
However, the youngster became determined to start walking after being visited by inspirational Matthew Newbury, the Norwich-born man who became the first Briton to receive a new state-of-the-art Genium bionic leg.
Since then Grace has been walking a few more steps every day with her new legs, which have been custom-made in her favorite colors of pink and purple.
