Nearly 600 doctors spread over various districts of Punjab have been transferred by the health department, leaving the medical community in the state fuming.
The transfer of these doctors in all 18 districts comes just weeks after the state government imposed a ban on general transfers in all departments of the state. The Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association has flayed the large-scale transfer of doctors. The association said that transferring doctors in the middle of the academic session would disturb most of their families as their children are in school or college.
The association has decided to oppose the transfers.
