More than 10,000 delegates will take part in the event to be organized with the theme Pharmacist for a Healthy India, said Dr B Suresh, organizing committee president.
The city is gearing up to host the 67th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress. The Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association will organize the conference in JSS University from December 19 to 21. The event with the theme “Pharmacist for a Healthy India” will see more than 10,000 delegates participating. Experts in pharmaceuticals, medicine, education, industries, scientists from India and abroad, as well as politicians will take part in the event.
The event includes lectures, panel discussions, poster presentations, placement opportunities. Organizing committee president and JSS University vice-chancellor VC Dr B Suresh told reporters that the vision of "Health India" is possible only when 1.2 billion people of the country have access to quality medicines at affordable cost. The country stands third in producing pharmaceutical items and eighth in terms of cost effectiveness. The aim of the conference is to motivate and discuss opportunities to set up pharmaceutical industries in Mysore and promote the heritage city as an educational hub, said Suresh.
