Medicall 2015: A Massive 3-Day Expo In Chennai Where Medicine Meets Management

Chennai is hosting Medicall, one of the largest B2B expo in India, which has over 600 visitors from all over the world and is expecting 10,000 visitors.

Medicall, the largest exhibition for medical equipments and consumables in India, is being held at the Chennai Trade Centre. The three-day expo began today and this will be followed by another in Mumbai from October 9-11.

Started by Dr.S.Manivannan, Founder-Director of Kauvery Hospitals and a senior consultant Anesthesiologist and Intensivist with over a decade of clinical experience in this field, it began as a one day event in Tiruchy (a small city 300km south of Chennai) 11 years ago.

To encourage kids to pursue medicine, organizers with the support of higher authorities at AIIMS have set up counters to provide hands-on experience.

And now, Medicall has grown into a massive three-day show with over 600 companies and almost 10,000 visitors participating annually.

As one of the news organizations puts it, “at Medicall, medicine meets management”. Some of the topics covered at the seminar are lean six sigma in healthcare, costing for hospitals, workshop on NABH pre-accreditation entry level for hospitals, succession planning, HR in Hospitals, IT: Workshop in social media, SEO and mobile apps for healthcare.

Last year, there were over 170 participants for a segment called Innovation Awards, which is managed by Bio Vedas who are the knowledge partners and strategic advisors to Medicall.

The 3-day expo will soon hit the shores of Mumbai on October 9.
