“Everyone

Q. Pranic healing has generated a lot of interest among people. So what is Pranic Healing?
A. Pranic Healing adopts a holistic approach to healing and involves harnessing "Prana" or life energy to heal physical and psychological ailments. Pranic healing is a no-touch, no-drug therapy that has no adverse side effects. Pranic healers are not medical doctors, but they can effectively channelize "life force" from the Sun, Air and Earth into the patient for holistic healing. Pranic Healing can complement mainstream medicine, and in fact Apollo Hospitals and other major healthcare institutions in India have promoted Pranic healing as part of a comprehensive wellness program.
Q. How did you get interested in Pranic Healing?
A. About 17 years ago I attended a workshop conducted by a group of Philippine Pranic healers and was amazed at the positive energy that suffused through my system and translated into palpable radiant health flushing out all the negative energetic patterns from within.
The experience led me to learn more about the nuances of Pranic healing and I attended several international conferences, workshops and seminars at Philippines, Australia, Italy, Germany, the US, and South American countries. My husband Dr. Cliff Saldhana PhD FRCP (MA) and Dr. D. Ramesh MDS, Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgeon did an extensive study based on animal experiments that highlighted the efficacy of a composite approach comprising of surgery, chemotherapy and appropriate Pranic healing procedures. This methodology was tried successfully on cancer patients and they manifested faster recovery, absence of chemotherapy side effects, shorter convalescence time, and no recurrence of lesions or tumors.
A. Anything from simple headaches to ailments such as asthma and COPD related to the respiratory system, heart ailments, gastrointestinal ailments such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Arthritis, Back pain, Menstrual problems, and chronic problems such as migraines and sinusitis. The list is endless if a person learns the network of chakras, meridians and health auras and works with them to accelerate the body’s healing process.
We strongly recommend that patients see medical doctors for diagnosis and treatment alongside practicing Pranic healing. Concurrently, we have also had doctors recommending Pranic healing to their patients, alongside medical treatment to hasten the recovery.
Pranic healing can be effectively used to control stress, improve self confidence and develop mental faculty. Basic learning about “Prana” or the Life energy system will help to keep the body alive and energetic and maintain a state of good health and well being.
Q. Do you find people from all walks of life signing up for Pranic healing workshops?
A. Business executives, regular office goers, housewives, college students, and healthcare professionals attend Pranic healing workshops. We have taught Pranic healing to doctors, nurses, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and many others in the healing fields. These professionals have given us the feedback that they find Pranic healing very effective and easy to apply in their healing process.
Q. Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga probably present vast learning areas. What do you specifically teach in Pranic healing classes?
A. Grand Master Choa Kok Sui has combined science and spirituality in his modern approach to Pranic healing and Arhatic Yoga. His comprehensive techniques are designed to cleanse and energize the physical body and mind, benefiting the whole personality.
Pranic workshops all over the world begin with the basics—working with Energy aura and absorbing the Prana or Chi energy. Later on, participants are led to “scan” or use the energy to locate blocks to the free flow of energy, “sweep” or clean congested energy and finally to "energize" or revitalize with fresh Prana in areas that face Pranic deficiency. The participants learn the “energy anatomy”—the network of chakras, meridians and health auras that can be tuned for a person’s overall fitness and wellness.
Q. Is it true that one has to turn vegetarian to venture into Pranic healing?
A. No, we don’t interfere with a person’s palate preference—vegetarian or non vegetarian. But, in my experience I have seen people who have come into an awareness of Life Energy and the Oneness bonding all living creatures, gradually and willingly give up eating meat. Vegetarianism is not mandatory to the practice of Pranic healing.
It is encouraging to hear of more people getting aware of the energy levels at their disposal to invigorate their mind and body and steer clear of ailments. Medindia wishes Sushama and Dr. Cliff Saldhana all success in their endeavor to take forward this method of holistic healing to benefit more people. Medindia’s community site has a Support Group for Pranic Healing where practitioners can inform others, share experiences and exchange notes.
