A Heady Option to Tackle Brain Damage after Stroke

New research is on to gauge if red wine can ward off brain damage often associated with stroke.

Researchers in US have come up with a heady option that can work like a magic potion to counter the damage in brain cells often after an episode of stroke or cerebro vascular accident(CVA).

According to the researchers from John Hopkins University ,who conducted a study on mice, revealed that a compound called Resveratrol found commonly in the skin of red grapes, administered in moderate doses, showed remarkable effect in reducing brain damage in mice which were given this compound before inducing stroke like damage.

They noticed that the mice which were given Resveratrol suffered relatively lesser brain damage than those that were not. Researchers therefore contend that drinking a couple of glasses of wine every day might actually help in providing protection from brain damage associated with stroke.

This might give wine lovers a valid reason to grab another goblet of red wine all in the name of good health!
