 Abuse-Resistant Oxycodone Gets FDA Approval
The US Food and Drug Administration revealed that it has approved another oxycodone drug, developed by Pfizer and Acura Pharmaceuticals, which has been specifically designed to deter drug abuse.
Though there is nothing to prevent users from abusing the drug, known as Oxecta, both the companies said that anyone trying to inject or inhale the powdered form of the drug could experience a burning sensation in the nasal passage.

Acura revealed that the drug could be launched in the market by the end of the third quarter.

This is not the first time that the FDA has approved a drug that has been designed to prevent its abuse. Last year FDA had approved a new formulation for the controlled-release drug OxyContin.
