Airline Meals Pose Serious Health Threats
A report by the FDA has said that airline meals may pose a serious health threat.
A report accessed by USA Today under the Freedom of Information Act found that many meals were prepared in kitchens with unclean equipment. Some food handlers did not practice the correct hygiene and food was stored at wrong temperatures, the report found.

LSG Sky Chefs, Gourmet, and Flying Food Group were the three caterers named in the FDA report. These companies provide meals on Delta, American, United, U.S. Airways and Continental and are thought to collectively serve up to 100 million meals annually.

Roy Costa a former Florida state food inspector who reviewed the reports for USA Today, said the situation was disturbing and that "it poses a real risk of illness and injury to tens of thousands of airline passengers on a daily basis."
