Diageo, the company behind the Smirnoff brand, has teamed up with the Government to caution women against the danger of drinking during pregnancy. Nearly £4m has been pledged by the drinks giant Diageo for a training programme which seeks to alert midwives and expectant mothers about the dangers of foetal alcohol syndrome.
The training programme seeks to educate about of 10,000 midwives and 1.3 million pregnant women in the next three years about the problems of drinking during pregnancy.
