A group of American researchers have found that a higher number of allergies in a person drastically reduce the risk of low and high-grade glioma.

Commenting in the report, lead researcher Bridget McCarthy said, “Our study confirms that there is a relationship between the immune system of allergy sufferers and glioma risk. A comprehensive study of allergies and antihistamine use with standardized questions and biological markers is essential to further delineate the biological mechanism that may be involved in brain tumor development.”
The details are published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.
