Though Amy Winehouse has tested negative for tuberculosis, doctors have still kept the singer in isolation in an effort to contain her chest infection.

The 24-year-old singer, who has been in a London hospital since collapsing at home on Monday, was put in quarantine by medics after they suspected she had killer bug TB.

Family and friends were banned from visits and only her dad Mitch has been allowed to enter the room to support his struggling daughter.

"Doctors have to take this very seriously," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

"She is coughing and spluttering all over the place so visitors would be at risk of catching whatever she has," the source added. ut a representative for the star has confirmed she has been given the all clear after a series of medical tests.

The singer's loved ones are hoping she will give up her dreams of playing Glastonbury and Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday gig next weekend.

"Amy is desperate to play both gigs. But friends and family are trying to keep her in for as long as she possibly can be," the source said.

"Doctors still aren't sure what is wrong with her so she must give them more time.

"Hopefully she will stay in long enough to clean herself up," the source added.
