Johnson & Johnson’s subsidiary company, Animas Corporation has revealed that its glucose monitoring insulin pump has been approved by the European regulators.
The company said that its product, known as Animas Vibe, is the first continuous glucose monitoring-enabled insulin pump available for people suffering from diabetes.

The Animas Vibe uses DexCom’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology which is the only such glucose information sensor that has been approved for up to seven days of continuous wear.

Stating that Animas Vibe has received a CE mark, the chief medical officer at Animas in West Chester, Dr Henry Anhalt said, “Avoiding extreme highs and lows in glucose levels is crucial to controlling diabetes and reducing the risk of long-term diabetes complications.
