Dr. Govinda Raju, who conducted the autopsy on Daniel Smith, said that the 20-year-old boy had methadone and the antidepressants Zoloft and Lexapro in his system, a combination that would have turned lethal after five hours, reports the New York Post.The conclusion by Dr. Raju has confirmed the findings of a private doctor who examined Daniel’s body after he died on Sept. 10, 2006.
According to Dr. Cyril Wecht, the boy also had other drugs in his system including a third antidepressant, the sleep medication Ambien and an over-the-counter cold medicine.
Anna Nicole's attorney and friend, Howard K. Stern, who was present at Daniel’s demise, said that the drugs the boy was taking were all for either depression or back pain.
Testimony in Daniel's case is scheduled to resume on Dec 12.
