Scotland is providing all the care and support for those suffering from anorexia.

Murray Duncanson, chief operating officer, Primary Care Organisation, NHS Lothian, said that all measures are being taken to boost services who suffer from eating disorder. Scottish health Executive said that help would be provided for people like Lindsay Waddell who is known as Miss A in the Ombudsman's report. Mr Duncanson expressed his condolences to the family and said that he would deploy specialist consultants to look after similar patients.

Such care would be provided either in the NHS hospital or in a private facility. This is a new step because previously no NHS inpatient facilities are available for people with anorexia nervosa in Scotland. Scottish health boards across Scotland along with private sector are working in unison to provide services for those suffering from anorexia. A regional specialist consultant would be appointed to supervise the care provided for the patients with an eating disorder in a private or NHS facility.
