Indian Vice President M Hamid Ansari has stressed the importance of advances in physiotherapy.

Indian Vice President M Hamid Ansari stressed the importance of advances in physiotherapy, stating that the branch of medicine needs to remain in touch with emerging challenges of new diseases in order to anticipate, prevent and cure them.

Physiotherapy has both curative and preventive aspects. Its affordability and relative facility in administering the required medicine makes it an integral and critical part of any recovery and rehabilitation programme for patients, he said, delivering the inaugural address at the Fourth Annual AIIMS Physiotherapy Conference here.
