Ant-Man Star Paul Rudd Quit Carbs And Alcohol For a Year to Get Abs
Paul Rudd, 46-year-old actor gave up alcohol and carbs to tone his body.
"I didn’t drink any alcohol and I had no carbs for a year. The intense regimen was almost kind of impossible to sustain. I’m still doing all the workouts, I’m still eating pretty well," said Rudd.

Rudd said that he had never exercised for an extended period of time, but it was easier to stick with the routine than he thought.

The actor included proteins and vegetables in his diet and ate at very specific times of the day.

"Actually, I enjoyed having the focus. I knew I was going to have to be held accountable, so that made it a little easier. But I’d never done anything like that before, to that extreme, and having the majority of my day built around that, instead of making fitness something I tried to work in on the side while I went about my day, was really kind of great,” said Rudd.

Rudd said he took the Chris Pratt approach to training for an action movie. "I basically didn’t eat anything for about a year. Eliminate anything fun for a year, and then you can play a hero."

"My day was centered on fitness and health, and that was kind of a first. Every other time, I had to go about my day and try and find the time to work out. But everything else about my day kind of had to fit in around the workouts. I was going to be held accountable for it, and there was a reason for doing it. I wasn’t just randomly doing this kind of arbitrarily, which would have made it a lot harder,” Rudd Explained.
