Junior doctors of the medical college hospital here, who have been abstaining from duty for a week in protest against the government's proposal to introduce reservation in higher education institutions, today went on an indefinite hunger strike.
The medicos, whose stir has disrupted medical services in the Swaroop Rani Nehru hospital, stepped up their agitation with the hunger strike which they have vowed to continue unless and until the government announces a roll back of its move.Meanwhile, pro-reservationists from the university of Allahabad took out a 'bare chest' rally in the city in support of quotas in higher education institutes.
