Aria MacDonald has a decent chance of survival after receiving a valuable gift of organs from an unknown child. The three-year-old was born with a rare condition, which results in difficulty in digesting food.

Without a transplant, the girl had just months to live, but her family moved to the United States for a final try. At the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Aria was possibly gifted life as he underwent transplantation of small intestine, liver, kidney and pancreas.

Aria's mother, Anita, wrote on her website of her gratitude to the family of the unknown child who donated the organs. "I have tasted their grief in those first early days with Aria. I can't begin to imagine their pain," she said.

The coming days will be tough for the girl as the risk of infections is high, but her family is confident she can survive this ordeal as well.
