The US Food and Drug Administration has given a tentative approval for Aurobindo Pharma to market the generic Famciclovir tablets which are used to treat herpes virus infections. According to the statement by the company, the FDA has given its approval for the manufacture of the drug in three variants, 125 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg.
“The product has a market size of approximately $170 million for the twelve months ending September 30, 2010, according to the IMS”, the company added.
