Speaking out on the popularity of Ayurveda, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shivraj V Patil said that people need to take a holistic approach in order to strengthen the popularity of the system. Patil was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Bhartiya Swasthya Chintan conducted by Punjab Department of Ayurveda on Tuesday.
He said that while Allopathy was popular among urban masses, a large number of rural population still depended on the age old system of Ayurveda medicines.
“We should not ignore and forget our old system of medicines. Ayurveda has its own importance and significance which is presently gaining ground globally and people in other countries are greatly attracted to the alternate methods of treatment for different ailments for which allopathic treatment has not made any remarkable dent”, he added.
