The camp will be held every day from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. from April 27 at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. Prime Minister Modi has also been invited.
The department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) will be organizing an eight-day yoga camp for the parliamentarians starting from April 27 in the Capital. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of state, said, “The objective is to help Members of Parliament channelize their energy for the betterment of their constituency and society as a whole and make them stress free so they can work in a better way.”
The eight-day camp is being organized in collaboration with a charitable trust called Yoga Prabha Bharati (Seva Sanstha) Trust in Mumbai. The camp will be held every day from 6 pm to 8.30 pm from April 27 at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
Naik said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been invited to attend the eight-day camp. Yoga camp is organized especially for parliamentarians as they have a very stressful life and important responsibilities. Once the parliamentarians understand the importance of yoga and mediation, they can communicate to the masses as well.
The government is preparing to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21. Naik has urged the masses to start practicing yoga and contribute to the International Yoga Day celebration.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the world community to celebrate yoga at the international level in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014. As many as 170 Nations supported Modi’s proposal and the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in December 2014.
