Biodegradable Tents - Heard of Them?

A new environment friendly tent which would perish naturally may soon be available, and what's more, its pocket friendly too!

Vanessa Harden, a Canadian designer from the UK has been busy working on prototypes for a biodegradable tent that would be cheaper than the most affordable tents on the market, reports Discovery News.

Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a new technique that may one day help in mending damaged heart tissues.

Her project, called Future Tents encourages greener lifestyles.

One of her more recent prototypes is a foldable cardboard tent embedded with local seeds, coated in bees wax, covered in biodegrading cellophane and anchored with biodegradable potato-based pegs.

Harden has been working with origami specialist Mark Bolitho on the tent's form.
