An Indonesian Health Ministry source has revealed that the bird flu has claimed two more lives, raising the death toll due to the H5N1 virus in the country to 14.The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that the 13-year-old girl and her four-year-old brother died last week in a West Java hospital.

The father of the children who died, along with a sister of theirs has also been hospitalized with the symptoms of avian influenza. The test results from the WHO-affiliated labs in Hong Kong confirmed the two youths died from H5N1 avian-flu virus. The newest cases were the fifth cluster of humans infected with bird flu in Indonesia.

Health officials said earlier that many fowl had died in the neighborhood where they lived in the West Java district of Indramayu. Five patients in the country suffering from the infection are reported to have recovered.
